Welcome to our family of AKC-registered, health-tested Golden Retrievers located in Iron Station, North Carolina. Our goal is to raise healthy, well-tempered Golden Retrievers that thrive as both loving family companions and versatile working dogs.
Golden Retrievers have been part of our lives since 2011, and our dogs are raised right in our home as part of our everyday family life. Puppies from our program have gone on to become cherished family members as well as successful dogs in activities such as agility, hunt tests, dock diving, and therapy work.
Health and responsible breeding are extremely important to us. Our dogs undergo extensive health testing and DNA screening to meet recommended OFA certifications and we follow the Golden Retriever Code of Ethics guidelines for responsible breeding. All of our dogs are registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC).Where it all began…
Our journey into breeding Golden Retrievers began with one very special dog.
We welcomed Luna into our family when our daughter was six years old and our son was just two. After recently losing our beloved chocolate lab, our home felt far too quiet. We knew we wanted another wonderful family companion, and Golden Retrievers had always held a special place in our hearts.
Then we found Luna.
From the moment she came home, everyone fell in love with her. Her gentle temperament, loyalty, and joyful personality made her the perfect family dog. It didn’t take long before we knew that one day we hoped to keep one of Luna’s puppies to continue her legacy in our growing family.
That dream is what started Golden Paws Goldens.
Our dogs are raised right here in our home and are truly part of our family. They grow up around children, everyday household activity, and lots of love and attention.
Over the years, many of our puppies have gone on to become wonderful family companions. Some have also excelled in obedience training, while others have become great hunting partners. Golden Retrievers are incredibly intelligent and versatile dogs, known for their eagerness to learn and their strong desire to please.
At Golden Paws Goldens, we strive to produce healthy, well-rounded puppies with exceptional temperaments and trainability. Our breeding dogs come from lines with strong pedigrees and health clearances.
We specialize in dark Golden Retrievers, though shades can vary naturally. Our dogs typically mature between approximately 55–80 pounds. Coat types can range from straight to curly, and some puppies may have small white markings on the chest, head, or paws. Because genetics vary, we cannot guarantee a specific shade of color, or size.

We kindly remind our puppy parents that we do not grant breeding rights for our puppies. Our breeding program is meticulously curated to ensure our red retrievers uphold our high standards of quality and temperament. Therefore, we maintain exclusive rights to breed within our dogs’ lineage.
We understand the joy and enthusiasm of owning a beautiful puppy, but we ask for your respect of our decision to keep our breeding program exclusive. Our primary goal is to produce healthy, happy, and well-rounded puppies, and controlling the breeding process is vital to achieving this.
